Esse track list aí (que era pra ser uma review) tá errado... Checa o Saikosounds que tá certo (link abaixo).
Bem, comprei o álbum, fiz o review... Só salvam duas tracks, o resto na minha humilde opinião é meio que "intocável" (porque não dá pra tocar mesmo)...
Minha review:
VA - Wrecked Chords (Spun Records, April 2006)
This release is the long waited double CD compiled by Gabriel Serrasqueiro, best known as Gabi, the man behind the Wrecked Machines project. This is a Spun Records release.
The first CD brings us 9 unreleased tracks and the second CD has 11 already released tracks, mixed by Gabi. I never listened to this mixed CD (and I not planning to), so I'm skipping it.
The mastering was made by Ido Ophir (Domestic) and sounds excellent.
There are no mentions to track times or bpms anywhere...
The cover design was made by Lanataproject and fits nicely on the cd theme.

04. Domestic - Simulated (Wrecked Machines rmx) - 08:16

09. Wrecked Machines - Rubberneck (Psysex rmx) - 08:15
Let's face it:
01. Wrecked machines & Pixel - Face It --> This compilation starts with a remix to Daft Punk - Technologic. This track has being played on the parties all around the world (as well as the Bamboo Forest remix to Technologic, released on his last album). But for me it's an average track, good production and the sample... Let's say, good to start the album...
02. Growling Machines - My House --> Growling Machines is the fusion of two big projects: Wrecked Machines and GMS. Usually the Growling Machines tracks are better that the GMS tracks released these days... This track is no exception, but still is not my style... Once again, good production, even some nice ideas, but something is missing...
03. Beckers - Switch (Growling Machines rmx) --> Now we have the Growling Machines rmx to Switch, one of the most overplayed track ever... It is surely a good track, but I can't stand it anymore... In fact, the words "Party Toy" almost give me a convulsive attack these days, so I going to skip this one.
04. Domestic - Simulated (Wrecked Machines rmx) --> Now this is the reason why I bought this release... 140 bpm of pure art. Of course I had to buy Domestic's original as well (VA - Think Sync), but this one was something special, Gabi's remix did justice to the original. What more to say? IMO, this track is worth a double CD...
IMO together with Silicon Sound's rmx to RPNGC (VA - Neo:Caine) this is the best remix released this year, at least that I have.
05. Wrecked Machines & Pixel - Relation Chip (Perplex rmx) --> Perplex's rmx to a track from the Wrecked Machines second album (Second Thought).
06. Wrecked Machines - Music In U (G.M.S. rmx) --> Another big hit. Go to a big party, listen it, come back and review it. I'm skipping it...
07. X-Noise & Guy Salama Feat. Mc Jah-natan - Out Loud --> Another big hit... These samples are extremely disgusting (maybe this is an example of what they call "evil, dark, scary psytrance"?? I'm scared!). Follow the script I gave on track 6 (go to a big party, listen it, come back and review it). I'm skipping it...
08. Panick - Up In Smoke --> Something different! Good to find this interesting track among so many big hits. It really looks like this track is lost between all the others here, and I glad I found it. Panick's second album is about to be released by Neurobiotic Records... This track is a good warm up!
09. Wrecked Machines - Rubberneck (Psysex rmx) --> Closing the compilation is a Psysex rmx to another Wrecked Machines track from his last album... I think is a good choice to close the album. Nice samples, something like:
"Until you get rid of the noise..."
"You must reject these distractive intruders.
It's the same way you must reject all the other radio stations when you tune into this one.
Even if you could get there once you'll hear nothing but noise.
rejecting the ...... you don't want..."
Same bass and build up formula, but all in all it a good remix, still not my style, but sober than most stuff here.
Verdict: 7/10. So what we have here? I'm sure a lot of people will enjoy this release. The next reviewers will claim that this is one of the releases of the year. Should you believe them? Well, that depends on what you're looking for...
- If you're looking for big hits this may be a release for you. Face It, Switch rmx, Music in U rmx and Out Loud are big hits being played all around the world (also GMS - Rounders is on the mixed CD).
- If you're after some serious music for your sets or home listening, then this release may fit your case, if you think the remix to Simulated and Panick's track are enough for justify buying the album, I can't imagine myself playing any track other than these two.
- If you like more psychedelic and twisted stuff I don't know why you're reading this review...
But, hey, I bought the album just because of the Domestic - Simulated (Wrecked Machines rmx), this means you should check this track as soon as possible!
Favorites: 4(!!!), 8.
Recommendation: I recommend the remix to Simulated and the Panick track. All other tracks by your own risk. I know a lot of people will enjoy these other tracks full of vocals, so listen to the samples and decide for yourself.
